intentions

Intentions for Figurative "Moment"

For this project I intend to make a sculpture of a skier in midair.  The moment I am trying to capture is the peak of a jump when the skier is "in the zone."  I decided to choose this moment because it is one of coolest feelings.  I am going to make the skier out of clay and am intending to make the poles and skies out of really smooth wood.  I got inspiration from a picture of the skier Tanner Hall (see below). 

I believe that this picture capture the moment perfectly.  I also like the way that his body rotates when he reaches down to grab his skis. I want to make my sculpture really simplistic and smooth.  I got inspiration from the artist Keith Haring (see below).  His art is really simplistic.  However, I plan on making my sculpture three dimensional as apposed to his flat sculptures
